PURPOSE

The purpose of this policy from TechRepublic Premium is to provide guidelines for appropriate entry, presence and operations conducted within your company’s data center. This policy can be customized as needed to fit the needs of your organization.

DATA CENTER ACCESS POLICY DETAILS

The following guidelines should be implemented:

The data center must be physically secured with locked entrances/exits.

Two-factor authentication must be used to gain access to the data center.

Badge and camera access must be utilized to record personnel access and usage of the data center. This access should be monitored and logged, with logs kept for at least 30 days.

Alarms should be implemented to alert appropriate staff of doors being left open longer than 60 seconds.

Alerts should be configured to notify appropriate staff of unauthorized data center access.
