Six gold balls will be awarded to some worthy Oklahoma high school football programs next week.
With the conclusion of Saturday’s Class 5A state semifinals, the opening weekend of the Oklahoma state title football games are now set.
The first title game takes place on Thursday, the 3A title game as Metro Christian faces Heritage Hall. It will kick off at 7 p.m. at Chad Richison Stadium on the University of Central Oklahoma campus in Edmond.
Then on Friday at UCO, two more gold balls will be awarded. At 1 p.m., the 6AII title game pits Stillwater against Choctaw. Then at 7 p.m., Bixby – which has won the past four 6AII championships – now goes for a 6AI title as the Spartans face Owasso, which outlasted No. 1 ranked Tulsa Union in six overtimes in Friday’s semifinals.
Also on Friday, the Class C title game will be held at Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, as Waynoka takes on Tipton at 7 p.m.
Two more title games takes place on Saturday, Dec. 3 at UCO. The 5A championship between Midwest City Carl Albert and McAlester is at 1 p.m., while at 7 p.m., the 4A title game takes place involving Wagoner and Cushing.
Also this coming weekend will be the semifinal games in classes 2A, A and B. All games will be held on Friday night.
Next weekend, the title games for those three classes take place.

Class 2A Semifinals
OKC Millwood vs. Tulsa Victory Christian, 7 p.m., East Central University in Ada
Jones vs. Washington, 7 p.m., Putnam City
Class A Semifinals
Fairview vs. Colcord, 7 p.m., Harrah
Hominy vs. Gore, 7 p.m., Jenks
Class B Semifinals
Laverne vs. Velma-Alma, 7 p.m., Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford
Oklahoma Bible vs. Seiling, 7 p.m., Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva
