Six gold balls will be awarded to some worthy Oklahoma high school football programs next week.

With the conclusion of Saturday’s Class 5A state semifinals, the opening weekend of the Oklahoma state title football games are now set.

The first title game takes place on Thursday, the 3A title game as Metro Christian faces Heritage Hall. It will kick off at 7 p.m. at Chad Richison Stadium on the University of Central Oklahoma campus in Edmond.

Then on Friday at UCO, two more gold balls will be awarded. At 1 p.m., the 6AII title game pits Stillwater against Choctaw. Then at 7 p.m., Bixby – which has won the past four 6AII championships – now goes for a 6AI title as the Spartans face Owasso, which outlasted No. 1 ranked Tulsa Union in six overtimes in Friday’s semifinals.
