The Red Sox made a trade Wednesday, acquiring Hoy Park from the Pirates for left-handed prospect Inmer Lobo. Park was added to Boston’s 40-man roster.

Park, a 26-year-old left-handed hitter who Pittsburgh designated for assignment earlier in the week, appeared in 23 games for the Pirates in 2022. He went 11-for-51 (.216 batting average) with two homers, two doubles, seven runs, six RBIs, four walks and 15 strikeouts.

Park made four starts at third base, three starts at shortstop and two starts in right field.

He made starts at shortstop, third base, second base, left field and center field in 45 games for the Pirates and Yankees in 2021.

The Yankees initially signed the South Korea native in 2014. New York traded him with Diego Castillo to the Pirates for Clay Holmes in 2021.

He has a .255/.384/.417/.801 line in 145 career games at Triple A.

Lobo, an 18-year-old from Venezuela, pitched in the Dominican Summer League in 2022. He went 2-0 with a 0.82 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and .190 batting average against in five starts.

Boston made two moves Wednesday. They also signed reliever Joely Rodríguez.
