Olympia, Wash. (August 10, 2022) –Washington’s Lottery and the Seattle Seahawks are celebrating their long-time partnership by giving Seahawks fans a chance to win up to $50,000 instantly through this season’s new Seahawks Scratch ticket, which debuts August 15. With the option to mail in non-winning tickets, fans have a chance to win additional Seahawks prizes, including 2023 Seahawks season tickets or an ultimate Gameday Experience that includes a meet & greet with Seahawks Legends Cliff Avril and Kam Chancellor.

Seahawks Scratch tickets cost $5 each and will be available through Washington’s Lottery authorized retailers. The second chance drawings will take place on October 12 and November 30, 2022, as well as on January 11, 2023. To be eligible for the October 12 drawing, entries must be received by October 8; for the November 30 drawing, entries must be received by November 26; and for the January 11 drawing, entries must be received by January 7.

Washington’s Lottery and the Seattle Seahawks have been long-established partners, collaborating since 1998 on tailgate events, Seahawks Legends meet-and-greets, the Blitz Challenge, and to send fans to cheer on the Seahawks at playoff games. The 2022-23 season marks the 13th Seahawks Scratch ticket from Washington’s Lottery.

“We’re thrilled for another year of working with the Seahawks on fan engagement and are proud to continue our partnership with them this season,” said Marcus Glasper, Director of Washington’s Lottery. “We enjoy finding new ways to bring fans excitement as we celebrate both the Seahawks and Lottery, so that every day feels like it’s game day.”

“The Seahawks are excited to continue our long-standing partnership with Washington’s Lottery to bring unique and fun Seahawks-themed prizes to our fans,” said Seahawks Chief Revenue Officer, Amy Sprangers. “We are proud that campaigns like Seahawks Scratchhelp support the Lottery’s efforts to fund important community programs, including education initiatives for youth across the state.”

Making a Difference in Washington State

Since 1982, Washington’s Lottery has generated more than $4.5 billion to support several important state programs, including providing much-needed funds for the Washington Opportunity Pathways Account (WOPA). In FY21, WOPA received $185.7 million from the Lottery, enough to pay college tuition for more than 18,000 Washington residents. It also provided approximately 25% of the annual budget for the state’s Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program, which provides critical services to more than 15,000 children at 440 locations across Washington.

Washington’s Lottery Beneficiary Fact

Washington’s Lottery is very proud to be a financial supporter of the state’s Early Childhood Education & Assistance Program (ECEAP). The $40 million annual investment the lottery makes in ECEAP has lasting effects. Children who participate in ECEAP are more likely to be kindergarten-ready than non-participants, and those who participate five or more hours per day are especially prepared in reading and math.[i] Children in state-funded pre-K programs like ECEAP see long-lasting positive effects, including increased grade progression, high school graduation and college enrollment.[ii]
